From dembicky at apo.nmsu.edu Fri Oct 28 09:30:06 2005 From: dembicky at apo.nmsu.edu (Jack Dembicky) Date: Tue Feb 7 18:30:18 2006 Subject: [Lens] PU02 Lenses observered at APO tonight Message-ID: I started late tonight because of high humidity. Seeing started out at around 1.2 arc sec but by the 3rd object it had degraded to about 1.7 arc sec. (I didn't record Q2237 in the online log even though it was observed, seeing was poor for that object and it dropped off my observation list.). Data has been ftp'ed to Ohio State. I had some problems scp the data to Princeton. scp -r apo@mutomo.astro.princeton.edu:/peyton/scr/mutomo0/Lens/ didn't work, connection closed by remote host. Data has been written to CD here at APO for archive. Objects observed: biases HS2209 Q0142 Q2237 (not recorded in log) no flats since we could not open during evening twilight. Seeing was 0.9" on focus, but tracking problems kept us from delivering on that for most of the science images. Most targets were observed near 2 airmasses because of the awkward timing. I took extra images of most of the targets while waiting for the next one to rise. Note that image #37 had a readout problem when it was nearly finished, so the file is the wrong size. I couldn't get it to display in IRAF, but most of the image should be there if you can persuade your software to read it. If not, I took extra images. The first set of biases was noisy, so I took a later set which came out somewhat better. I was NOT able to transfer the images to OSU; I could connect and login with FTP, but not transfer anything. The error message was "425 Can't build data connection: Connection timed out." I can try again tomorrow night, or Chris/Ed can look for the data on tycho:/export/images/Q4PU02/UT051030/ Russet.
