Hello Everyone,

Thanks very much for signing up for public observing! I’ve attached the schedule below — we will also post the schedule to the “internal” tab on the Peyton observatory website. If you haven’t yet signed up for the listserv, please do! We circulate requests for additional event volunteers through the mailing list, so if you are interested in extra observing nights sign up to get those emails.

In the schedule, names in green denote new observers. We’ve added an extra experienced observer for nights when there are more than one new observer (there are more new observers than nights, which is a good problem to have!). If you are an experienced observer on these nights and feel that you are comfortable leading public observing alone with two new observers, please let me know and we can adjust the schedule.

We are also planning to hold an extra observing night dedicated to moon observing. This will happen in November, and I’ll circulate a call for volunteers through the mailing list. So if your date ends up getting rained out, don’t worry! There are more opportunities.

Finally, one thing I forgot to mention. You’re free to use the telescope at any point. If you are an experienced observer with a dome key, you can go whenever you want. If you are a new observer, please send us an email and we’ll work out a time!

Let me know if you have any questions or if I left anything out,
Erin
